{"id":2031,"date":"2014-07-29T23:30:35","date_gmt":"2016-01-05T19:18:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.vandestreek-bier.nl\/?p=2031"},"modified":"2014-07-29T23:30:35","modified_gmt":"2016-01-05T19:18:03","slug":"international-craft-beer-festival-berlin-2014-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/oud.vandestreekbier.nl\/en\/international-craft-beer-festival-berlin-2014-2\/","title":{"rendered":"International Craft Beer Festival Berlin 2014"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Together with the boys from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kompaanbier.nl\" target=\"_blank\">Kompaan bier<\/a> we went to Berlin last weekend, to join the Global Craft Beer Brewers Congress and Festival, organized by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.craftbeerbrewers.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">GACBB<\/a>.<br \/>\nDuring the congress we both took part in the juries for the Craft Beer Awards and there we tasted and judged a lot of fantastic beers. The next day, during the festival, Ronald joined a panel discussion about the definition of &#8216;Craft Beer&#8217;, together with the founder of the Harpoon brewery from the USA and Sebastian Mergel from the Bierfabrik in Berlin. Maybe you can guess the results of this discussion: we didn&#8217;t come to a conclusion.<br \/>\nThe day of the festival it was nice and sunny, and with more than 1500 visitors and empty kegs of beer by the end of the day it was a great success.<br \/>\nIn the award ceremony our friends from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vandestreek-bier.nl\/en\/collaboration-brew-pyynikin-kasityolaispanimo-juniper-twig-summer-ale\/\" title=\"Collaboration brew with Pyynikin K\u00e4sity\u00f6l\u00e4ispanimo \u2013 Juniper twig summer ale\" target=\"_blank\">Pyynnikin Kastolamiskspanimo<\/a> won a gold medal in the porter category &#8211; well-earned!<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.vandestreek-bier.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/10578418_684375864975486_142905783_n-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"10578418_684375864975486_142905783_n\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-1427\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Together with the boys from Kompaan bier we went to Berlin last weekend, to join the Global Craft Beer Brewers Congress and Festival, organized by the GACBB.
